                                        about 3km from Melaka town the mosque 
                                        was constructed in March 14, 1984 and 
                                        fully completed and used in January 12, 
                                        1990.The project cost RM19.5 million and 
                                        officiated by DYMM Seri Paduka Baginda 
                                        Yang Dipertuan Agong Sultan Azlan Shah 
                                        on July 13, 1990, equivalent with 20 Zulhijjah 
                                        1410H in Muslim calendar.

                                      Al-Azim 
                                        Mosque model was prepared by an Architectural 
                                        Committee that considered all Malay and 
                                        Islamic traditional unique architecture. 
                                        The unique design of the mosque enables 
                                        us to see it from two- dimension, inside 
                                        and outside.  
                                         
                                        The mosque outside 
                                        square base is match with the square three 
                                        level roof. The idea was taken from the 
                                        first mosque built by Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. 
                                        which stands on four Islamic elements, 
                                        the base represent 'Syariah' (Islamic 
                                        Law), first level represent 'Tariqat' 
                                        (way to be with Allah), second level represent 
                                        'Haqiqat' (the truth of Allah) and the 
                                        third level represent 'Makrifat' (knowing 
                                        Allah). 
                                       
                                        Al-Azim minaret stands 
                                        tall at 188 feet with a pentagon symbolize 
                                        the Islamic commandment. Besides as a 
                                        place for the 'bilal' to call on 'Azan' 
                                        it is also as the mosque landmark.
