Melaka has many sports, social and cultural and charitable organizations all approved by the Registrar of Societies. These organizations are the backbone of community life and provide meaningful, a wide variety of activities as diverse as children's art competitions to jogging and calisthenics. Many of these organizations cater for the youth while the many charitable organizations carry out fund raising activities to help the needy and less privileged. These associations and organizations play a crucial role in the development of the state.
