Located about 0.5km from Masjid Tanah town. Kampung Seri Tanjung is about 27km from Melaka town and 13km from Alor Gajah Town. Among the popular tourist destinations near the kampung are Tanjung Bidara Beach and A Famosa Water World.

HISTORY

The kampung was known as Ujung Tanjung, and has been in existence for about 150 years. For administrative convenience the kampung was put under the Solok Duku JKKK. However on September 1986 at the suggestion of the Chief Minister, Kg Ujung Tanjung changed her name into Kg. Seri Tanjung.

Aim

• To keep Kg. Seri Tanjung clean, beautiful, and attractive.
• To uplift the socio-economy of the village through the agriculture sector, business and small industry.
• To upgrade the academic achievement among the children in the kampung to a standard that will ensure at least one professional in each household by the year 2020.
• To develop a caring, united, healthy, and industrious society in the village.
• To develop an individual who is knowledgeable, poised, and has high moral values.

Background to Seri Tanjung Homestay Programme

Started in August 1997. There are 25 families involved and 40 rooms available. This homestay programme accepts all tourists, both local and foreign.
